New Payment Methods at Chasing Rays Proofreading

Due to some of my clients having problems in countries where PayPal does not work (e.g., Turkey, Iran), I’ve updated my payment portal such as to allow people from almost any country in the world to make convenient credit/debit card payments with their local bank cards.

But what are these new payment methods, and which is the best choice for you when completing your invoice from Chasing Rays Proofreading?

PayPal

The traditional PayPal option has been maintained for those wishing to either use their PayPal account, or their credit and debit cards in countries where PayPal is allowed. This is not that many countries, so this option is really only for those who know PayPal is supported in their country.

Direct Debit

For clients wishing to set up one-off or recurring payments via direct debit, this is the option to go for. This is unfortunately restricted to around 50 countries at the moment – check this country list from which direct debits can be taken to see if this option is for you.

Credit/Debit Card

This final option is what a good many people, especially from Turkey, have been waiting for! This option works in the vast majority of countries worldwide, supporting over 135 currencies, and allows you to use your local credit/debit card to make payment to Chasing Rays – no more bank transfer fees or messing about creating accounts with money transfer services! The majority of people would likely want to select this payment option, unless they definitely wish to use PayPal. if your country’s three-letter currency code is on this list, you can use this option to be invoiced in your local currency.

What if my Country isn’t Supported by Any of the Above?

In this case, I’m afraid you will have to make other arrangements for your invoicing, but should expect to make payment in Sterling (GBP). Usually, the best option is either a direct bank transfer or – which is usually cheaper – use a money transfer service. For the latter, many of my previous clients have recommended Wise, which seems to be both reliable and relatively cheap as a service. You will need to request my bank account details in this instance, which I will make available on request.
