When Might You Need a Certificate of Proofreading?

There are various types of academic work that require proof that your work has been read by an independent proofreader. Typically, such proof will be requested by journals when submitting papers for publication, but is sometimes required when submitting undergraduate or postgraduate coursework.

What Can Chasing Rays Proofreading Provide?

If you know you’ll need a certificate of proofreading for when you submit, please let me know when you send your work.

I am able to supply a headed note that includes my contact details indicating that your work has been proofread as part of a professional service. For obvious reasons, I cannot supply an editable note, so will only send such certificates in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format, which will include the following:

  • type of work (e.g., paper, thesis, report, essay, etc.)
  • title of the work (e.g., thesis, dissertation, or paper title)
  • name of author (usually just the author who sent the work, but all authors on request)
  • dialect in which corrections have been made (British or American English)

as well as my contact details should the reviewers/examiners wish to contact me for any further details.

As with everything else, I can be flexible about the form of the certificate according to your needs. Please contact me to discuss a customised certificate!
